As a tourist island, there are countless beaches in Bali. Bali is not just Kuta Beach, which has been famous for decades! Especially if you add the small islands around Bali such as Nusa Penida, Nusa Ceningan, and Nusa Lembongan. In short, there are so many beaches in Bali that are very beautiful and worth visiting.
Not sure where to start? We'll help you decide which beach attractions in Bali you should include in your Bali itinerary with these 13 best beach recommendations in Bali!
1. Kelingking Beach
You probably know that the view from the top of the cliff at Kelingking Beach is very beautiful and magical. No wonder, most tourists come here to enjoy the panoramic view of this beach in Nusa Penida while taking photos with its unique cliff background.
But did you know that you can actually go down the steep stairs to the beach at the bottom? Indeed, it is still very rare for tourists to bother doing it because it is very tiring. But when you get to the bottom, the beach at Kelingking Beach will really pay for all your efforts! With few visitors, you can enjoy the fine white sand and turquoise water at Kelingking Beach to your heart's content!
2. Seminyak Beach
In contrast to Kelingking Beach, Seminyak Beach is very easy to get to. Located north of Kuta Beach and Legian Beach, this beach in Bali is close to the hype Seminyak area. The beach is also full of resorts, cafes and bars, and beach clubs, such as Sunset on Seminyak.
Seminyak Beach is one of the beaches in Bali that you must visit because this beach is perfect for you to relax waiting for the sunset. With a wide expanse of sand and less crowds than Kuta and also relatively cleaner, hanging out at Seminyak Beach is really fun.
3. Amed Beach
A beach with fine, black sand? You can find it in Amed! Located in East Bali, Amed Beach is in Amed Village, Karangasem. Because of its proximity to Mount Agung, the sandy soil in Amed contains volcanic content, and that's what makes the sand on this beach so unique.
In contrast to life in southern Bali, Amed is a very suitable area for travelers who want a quieter and slower Bali vacation life. Even so, you can still enjoy challenging marine activities here, from snorkeling to diving.
4. Geger Beach
Among the long line of beaches in Nusa Dua, Geger Beach is arguably the best because it offers a great panoramic view of the sea, fine sand, clean beaches, and relatively few visitors. The location is also easy to find because it is not far from the Mulia Nusa Dua Hotel.
Although there is a lot of tourist development around Geger Beach because there are many resorts and luxury hotels there, but there are still parts of Geger Beach that are still beautiful as the original, making it very interesting to visit.
5. Suluban Beach
Suluban Beach is a unique beach. It's located just below the famous Single Fin beach club, and to get to this beach, you have to go down into a cave, then out onto the beach which is also popular especially with surfers.
Another unique feature is that this beach is much better if visited during low tide because it means there are more sandy areas of the beach that you can relax on. But during high tide, the water will usually rise quite far, even into the cave.
Therefore, paying attention to the tidal times in this area is highly recommended, so that you can enjoy Suluban Beach to the fullest.
6. Diamond Beach
Diamond Beach is another beautiful beach in Nusa Penida. Located in the southeastern part of Nusa Penida, this beach offers a really cool view of a cluster of cliffs from a height! It's no wonder that this spot has become one of the most popular spots for Instagram-worthy photos in Bali.
7. Gunung Payung Beach
Gunung Payung Beach is located in Kutuh, South Kuta, Bali. Located between Nusa Dua and Pandawa Beach, Gunung Payung Beach is arguably one of the beautiful beaches in the south of Bali that is still rarely known to people. In fact, even though it is not too big, this beach offers endless views of turquoise sea water from a height, and a beach with fine and soothing white sand.
To get to the beach, you do have to climb down hundreds of stairs which might be a bit tiring. But just like at Green Bowl Beach, the view from the height is really impressive, making you can't wait to get down to the beach!
The waves at Gunung Payung Beach are quite good for surfing, so don't be surprised if you see some surfers coming to this beach to try riding the waves here.
8. Karma Beach
More famous for its Karma Kandara Beach Club, Karma Beach is indeed one of the more private beaches in Bali. To enter, you'll need to pay an entrance fee and eat and drink at Karma Kandara Beach Club, or stay at Karma Kandara Resort. To get down to the beach, you will have to ride a gondola down the cliff! How exciting is that?
At Karma Beach, you can enjoy a white sandy beach that is completely private and very clean. You can also take part in sea kayaking and snorkeling here, while for the kids, there is the Three Monkey Kids Club that offers a variety of exciting activities for them.
9. Melasti Beach
Melasti Beach is another beach in the south of Bali that has risen in popularity in recent years. Apart from the fact that the beach is nice and well-managed, the road to Melasti Beach, which is built between limestone cliffs, provides a very unique view. It's not uncommon for people to stop to take pictures with these cliffs in the background!
10. Crystal Bay
Crystal Bay is a famous beach in Nusa Penida. Located in the northwest area of the island, there's a reason why this beach is called Crystal Bay. With fine white sand and a sea that is relatively calmer than other areas in Nusa Penida, Crystal Bay does have a crystal-like beach and sea water. It's no wonder that this beach is one of the most visited by people when traveling to Nusa Penida.
11. Sanur Beach
As an area whose popularity is similar to Kuta Beach, aka it has existed for decades, Sanur is no longer seen by young travelers. But as a result, this beach is fun for those of you who like a relatively quiet beach area, especially morning lovers! Yup, Sanur Beach is indeed famous for its iconic sunrises.
12. Lovina Beach
Lovina Beach is located in Buleleng Regency, Bali. Lovina Beach is one of the marine tourism areas in the northern part of Bali Island.
Lovina Beach has black sand that is still natural which is very attractive. You can walk about 1 kilometer from the shoreline to see dolphins in the waters of Lovina Beach. Lovina waters are relatively calm so you can tour the sea using a fishing boat.
For those of you who want to enjoy the attraction of wild dolphins, you must leave early in the morning when the sun will rise. It is recommended at that hour because dolphins in this area only appear between 6am and 8am. At that hour, dozens of dolphins will naturally show their activities. The various actions they perform, ranging from simply swimming on the surface of the water, there are also those who jump up and down. Of course this will amaze because of the cute sea animals.
The tourists will gather at 5:30 WITA to leave for the middle of the sea.
During the trip, you can see a wide view of the sea and as the boat moves away from land, you can see the mainland of Lovina Beach from a distance like a silhouette with a sunrise view. After arriving in the middle of the sea, the fisherman will follow where the dolphins usually appear.
